Like last season with the rocket launch, Epic seems to have something really unique coming with the recent lightning strikes and now the cube.

Thanks to a cinematic point of view from @LootLakeBR, it appears a powerful lightning strike spawned the cube. It’s unclear why the cube is there, however, and what it’ll lead to. But it’s still interesting to think about the possibilities.

If you land or climb on the cube, it bounces you into the air
and it gives you shields. Flashing symbols and noises have also been noticed coming from the cube. It also appears that if you shoot the cube too much, it’ll kill you.

In season four, a rocket was launched and created cracks in the sky, which proved to be the cause for many of the map’s changes. The lightning may prove to be this season’s major cause for change.

We’ll update this article as more information becomes available.
