Meats like Venison are key ingredients for cooking dishes and sometimes essential quest items. Unlocking them is fairly complex, so here’s how to get Venison in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

You can get Venison from Gaston’s Stall in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Venison is A Rift in Time exclusive item, so you must have the DLC if you want to use this ingredient.

Before accessing this item and Gaston’s Stall, you must also meet a few prerequisites.

  • Unlock Gaston. You must complete the Diamond in the Rough quest to recruit him as a valley villager. He’s also A Rift in Time-exclusive character.
  • Raise your friendship with Gaston to level two. This is fairly easy to do right after unlocking him as long as you have a daily discussion with him and grant him a few of his favorite items of the day.
  • Complete the Center of Attention quest. This quest unlocks once you reach level two friendship with Gaston. Progressing through it is how you unlock Gaston’s Stall.

Once you have met these conditions, you may find Venison on sale at Gaston’s Stall for 1,000 Star Coins. His shop is a bit complex, so there’s always a chance Venison won’t be available when you need it.

Gaston’s Stall has three slots available to sell meat, including Venison, Pork, and Poultry. His stock rotates daily, so on some days, two slots might have the same type of meat rather than all three options.

The amount of Venison available for purchase varies, too. Gaston may have 20, 40, or unlimited Venison available each time this meat is on sale in his shop. Since there’s no way to know when Venison will be available, it’s a good idea to stock up on it when you can so you don’t have to worry about waiting for it to resurface in the shop later.

You can cook many different kinds of meat-based meals using Venison, but you also need it to complete important quest tasks like cooking Hot Dogs for Mickey. The Venison you can buy from Gaston’s Stall is also completely different from the Aged Venison you need to obtain during the Hero Pose quest, so make sure you don’t mix them up.
