Folded Root god rolls and how to get them in Destiny 2

It really folded.

The Plaguelands are a gold mine of Golden Age tech and weapons. With the Ash & Iron major update, there are a couple of new weapons to chase in Destiny 2, including the Folded Root rocket launcher.

Folded Root is a Void Aggressive Frame rocket launcher and is currently the only Void rocket you can farm for in the game, because old weapons, like Tomorrow’s Answer and Faith-Keeper, can only appear at Xûr over the weekend.

Here are our Folded Root god rolls for PvE and PvP in Destiny 2.

What is the Folded Root god roll in Destiny 2?

Folded Root PvE god roll

  • Launcher Barrel: Volatile Launch
  • Magazine: Alloy Casing
  • Perk one: Air Trigger
  • Perk two: Bipod
  • Masterwork: Reload Speed

Folded Root PvP god roll

  • Launcher Barrel: Quick Launch
  • Magazine: High-Velocity Rounds
  • Perk one: Cluster Bomb
  • Perk two: Chain Reaction
  • Masterwork: Velocity

The Folded Root is a fairly underwhelming rocket launcher in every department. If you have an older Tomorrow’s Answer from Trials of Osiris with Encious Arsenal and Bait and Switch, use it over Folded Root because this rocket can’t roll any of these perks.

When it comes to damage options on Folded Root, you can pair Air Trigger with Bipod. Air Trigger increases reload speed when in the air and also grants a 30 inventory size stat. Bipod increases mag size by one and total reserve size, allowing you to spam rockets without a break.

There might be a use for it to clear adds and elites in Grandmaster+ difficulties when grinding Power. You can still use the Air Trigger + Bipod roll, but there are also perks like Ambitious Assassin and Lead from Light in the third column, which you can pair with Destabilizing Rounds or Chain Reaction in the fourth column.

Folded Root doesn’t offer much in the Crucible, either. The best it can offer is something like a Cluster bomb with a Chain Reaction to boost AoE damage by spawning small bombs and creating an elemental explosion with final blows.

How to get Folded Root in Destiny 2

Folded Root is a part of the New Territories: Reclaim loot pool that you can get by playing new Reclaim activities. Look for the grey Engram among the bonus rewards for one of the following Fireteam Ops: Fallen Bunker, Cabal’s Watch, and Condusctor’s Keep.

During the New Territories: Reclaim event, you can also get additional copies from the event reward track and reward shop. Much like with previous events, you can earn Event Tokens by completing challenges and then redeem them for loot, up to Tier 4.

For Tier 5 drops, you have to complete Reclaim on higher difficulties with a higher score. And there’s also a chance to get a Holofoil version of the Folded Root or other event weapons.
