How to unlock the Cronen Squall in Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone

Several new weapons arrived in Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone in season three, and one of them is a new battle rifle called the Cronen Squall.

At first, very little was known about the Cronen Squall so far, but Activision revealed it’s a “bullpup, semi-automatic rifle chambered in 6.8 Wrath and designed for distance shooting and exceptional damage output.”

“With the best range and fire rate in its class, the Cronen Squall is a worthy contender across all modes,” Activision said. “Among its other Gunsmith attachments, choose from six different ammo types for its powerful 6.8 rounds and up your reserves with two options for extended magazines, including a mighty 50-round drum attachment.”

Battle rifles either flourish or flounder in CoD, so players are eager to get their hands on this new one to see if it’s worth ranking up and using in either MW2 multiplayer games or even Warzone battle royale matches. Here’s a hint: it flourishes.

How to get the Cronen Squall in MW2 and Warzone

Now that season three has come to a close, however, there’s a challenge to unlock the gun. Here’s what you need to do:

• Get 30 headshot operator kills with battle rifles
• Extract weapon from DMZ

During season three, the Cronen Squall was found in sector C11 of the season three battle pass. This means that players trying to unlock the gun as soon as possible should plot their course to the right, making their way through C1, C3, and C7.

The Cronen Squall can also be unlocked by playing DMZ, as has been the case with all previous new weapons in MW2. If you play a round of DMZ, find the Cronen Squall, and extract alive with it, you will unlock the gun for use in all modes.

Players were able to unlock the gun simply by playing MW2 or Warzone 2 and earning unlock tokens. Tokens can also be bought for real money or CoD Points, so the weapon can be unlocked as fast as you’re willing to spend.

Now, all you need to do is pick up your favorite battle rifle (like the TAQ-V or Lachmann-762) and get some headshots. Eventually, the powerful Cronen Squall will be yours.
