MW3’s newest gun just got hit with second nerf in a week

It was fun while it lasted.

Call of Duty players, take heed: That new gun you just unlocked in the season pass just got nerfed yet again.

Modern Warfare 3’s season six began just six days ago, but one of the game’s two new guns has already been nerfed twice, including an update today that may put it out of commission for good.

However necessary it may have been, considering the gun was powerful with little to no recoil, it’s still disappointing to see the fun of the DTIR 30-06 battle rifle disappear so quickly. Alas, the gun has been taken down once more.

Here’s everything changing in today’s MW3 and Warzone update.

MW3 patch notes: Sept. 24 – DTIR nerf

The DTIR 30-06 got nerfed once again, this time in both Warzone and MW3, after just being tweaked with nerfs last week in just over 24 hours after the season six update added it to the game.

This week’s nerf pertains to several attachments for the DTIR. The Fixer 1.4 Long Barrel, Sanctum-60 Long Barrel, Shadowcaster Suppressed Barrel, Demo Nimble Stock, and Rifleman 200 stock all have had increases to recoil. But the gun’s general recoil kick has been increased to 32 degrees per second, up from 27.5 degrees per second. Basically, it kicks harder now.

In last week’s patch, the DTIR had its max damage nerfed from 48 to 45, its near-mid damage dropped from 45 to 38, mid damage lowered from 41 to 36, minimum damage nerfed from 36 to 35, and headshot modifier decreased from 1.5x to 1.35x.

So, with these two patch’s changes combined, it appears the DTIR may now be more in line with other weapons in the game, but this is being said before any substantial testing has been done on my part, so it remains to be seen.

In Warzone, the nerf is felt even harder for season six because the Bracefire-HC Grip for the Kastov LSW LMG had a bug fix, because the Underbarrel attachment was unintentionally increasing movement speeds.
