Resonance Liberation is basically your character’s ultimate or burst attack, which deals the most damage. To use the ability, you’ll need to gather Resonance Energy. You gain Resonance Energy through several ways, including dealing damage, taking damage, performing perfect dodges or parries, and using basic and skill attacks.

However, the most consistent and effective way to obtain Resonance Energy is by damaging enemies with various types of attacks. As you gain more Resonance Energy with higher damage, using several skills and your character’s most powerful abilities will gain you more Resonance Energy. This, in turn, will allow you to trigger Resonance Liberation much quicker and more consistently.

You’ll know if your Resonance Liberation is charging by looking at the bottom right corner of the screen. If the icon is charging, a ring will appear around it. Dealing more damage will fill up the ring, and you’ll know your Resonance Liberation is ready when the icon is fully filled up, glowing or pulsing. You can then use the Resonance Liberation ability by pressing the dedicated button, which is usually R on PC or a special button on mobile or console.

How to effectively use Resonance Liberation

Each character in Wuthering Waves has their own unique icon for the ability, and if you don’t know which icon belongs to your character’s Resonance Liberation, you can check their details through the Team page. Additionally, Resonance Liberation abilities are unique to each character. Many characters deal an ultimate attack, while some, like Verina, deal damage while also healing all characters, and characters like Phoebe execute attacks that stack damage.

What’s more, each character’s Resonance Liberation regeneration speed varies depending on their stats. However, this stat can be enhanced by using several items, including Echoes and weapons, that increase the energy regeneration rate. Some characters can also increase their regeneration rate through nodes, but this can be hard to do as it requires you to roll the same character several times to get the upgrades from their duplicates.

The best way to take advantage of Resonance Liberation is to trigger them after Echo abilities and buffs, and when enemies are grouped together. Additionally, it’s best to use Liberation at the end of a combo chain, which characters like Jiyan and Calcharo are best at. Finally, as positioning matters during combat in Wuthering Waves, and most Liberations have limited AoE range, ensure you’re next to the toughest enemies when triggering your Resonance Liberation  or use it to finish off a boss.
