There are plenty of secrets to unravel and tantalizing loot to discover in The Outer Worlds 2. Some are tied to certain quests, while others are waiting to be picked up from the far corners of the map. Few, however, are hiding in plain sight, like the legendary camouflage helmet.
This helmet is well-suited to stealth builds in The Outer Worlds 2 and anything that amplifies the challenge. Here’s how to get it.

Where to find the legendary camouflage bucket helmet in The Outer Worlds 2

You can find the legendary camouflage helmet in The Outer Worlds 2 on a scarecrow in the middle of the corn field in Fairfield. It’s the area in front of the Spire Grove and right behind the Sheriff’s and the Doctor’s place.
The funny thing is, you may have walked past this scarecrow several times already and completely missed this legendary item. Thankfully, there are no other scarecrows in the area, so spotting it shouldn’t be too tough. That’s it—grab the Battle Helm of Ptero-Bane, and you’re set.
How good is the legendary camouflage bucket helmet in The Outer Worlds 2?

The Battle Helm of Ptero-Bane comes with the Incognito mod, which makes you camouflaged or invisible while standing completely still. We aren’t running a full-fledged stealth build, but found it quite effective in infiltrating heavily guarded outposts like the Vox Relay and Arbiter Training Facilities in Fairfield.
It’s also quite effective in breaking off tension in heated encounters and providing a few moments to breathe. As you would expect, enemy AI in The Outer Worlds 2 is pretty dumb, so it’s a great tool to fool them when the need arises.
The only caveat is that equipping this helmet will significantly hinder your line of sight, making it tedious to use all the time. Hence, if you want to add extra challenge to the game or try a hardcore stealth build, we recommend always using the legendary camouflage bucket helmet. If not, you could toss it sometimes to escape or survive certain frantic situations.
