Hatenna is making its debut in Pokémon Go. You’ll be able to start finding it at an increased rate during the Psychic Spectacular 2024 event, and expect to see it moving forward in more specific events.
The real challenge is to chase it down. Hatenna won’t be an easy Pokémon to encounter, and you shouldn’t expect to see it too often while playing. There are a few specific locations you can expect to find it, though, especially during the Psychic Spectacular 2024 event. Here’s what you need to know about how to catch Hatenna in Pokémon Go.
Where to find Hatenna in Pokémon Go
There are several ways you can find Hatenna while playing Pokémon Go. The most straightforward way is finding it in the wild while exploring your local neighborhood. Hatenna does have a chance to appear in the wild, but it will only appear to lucky trainers—it has a low chance of spawning. You might be able to improve your chances by using Incense or placing a lure on a PokéStop.
Alternatively, there’s the opportunity for you to hatch a Hatenna from a 7km egg. Hatenna will have a chance to spawn from 7km eggs while you’re exchanging gifts with other players in Pokémon Go during the Psychic Spectacular 2024 event from Sept. 18 to 22. You’ll want to clear up your reserve of eggs to try and gather as many 7km eggs as possible for a chance to hatch a Hatenna from them.
For those who plan to spend a reasonable amount of time completing Field Research tasks, Hatenna can appear as a reward. You’ll have to complete a specific event-exclusive Field Research task during the Psychic Spectacular 2024 event in Pokémon Go to get a Hatenna. However, this might be easier than finding it in the wild or obtaining it from 7km eggs.
With the Psychic Spectacular 2024 event in full effect, there’s also the option to catch Hatenna from the Special Research and Collection Challenge. These are featured during the Pokémon Go event. While the Collection Challenge is available to everyone, the Special Research is one you do have to purchase for $2.00 USD, or however it converts to your local currency. Both of these methods provide Hatenna encounters.
Expect to see Hatenna in future Pokémon Go events, especially ones that feature Psychic-type Pokémon.
