Overwatch’s “Sausage Man with leek” is walking around Anime Expo

The best and weirdest part? It was commissioned by Blizzard.

Overwatch’s most popular non-playable character is—obviously—Pachimari, a happy little octo-onion character found all around Overwatch’s maps.

But runner-up? That’s Sausage Man, who always comes paired with a leek. We don’t know a whole lot about Sausage Man, but it appears to be a riff on characters from Japanese arcade game Taiko: Drum Master. Overwatch players love him, and it was only a matter of time before a cosplay version of Sausage Man showed up.

Blizzard apparently commissioned a life-sized Sausage Man cosplay to run around Anime Expo in Los Angeles, California this week. Overwatch brand coordinator Lynette Greathouse wrote on Twitter that the cosplay was created by Henchmen Studios, the folks Blizzard typically commission for new hero reveal cosplays. They’re the company that created cosplay looks for Brigitte, Moira, and Sombra when they were first released.

Sausage Man is part of an Overwatch roadshow that’s traveling around the country to different conventions and conferences. Anime Expo is the third stop for the event, called The Overwatch Payload Tours.

After Anime Expo ends on July 8, The Payload Tour moves on to San Diego Comic Con from July 19 to 22, Dragon Con from Aug. 30 to Sept. 3, and New York Comic Con from Oct. 4 to 7. There’s a booth set up at each stop that Overwatch fans can take photos in front of, bringing cosplayers into the game’s maps. Not a cosplayer? The Payload Tour has commissioned Overwatch weapons for fans to pose with during the events.
