Lots of Overwatch teams have shaken up their rosters before the start of Overwatch Contenders season one. FaZe Clan is one of them.
The North American organization has replaced former DPS Lui Olivares with former BK Stars and Selfless Gaming player Lee “Carpe” Jae-hyeok. Carpe was released from Selfless when the organization disbanded in July.

Overwatch Contenders is just a few days away—it begins Aug. 19—and it’s not clear how long the South Korean player has been with the team. The rest of the roster remains the same, save listed substitute and Cloud9 player Lane “Surefour” Roberts and coach Luke “iuKeEe” Dainton. Though he’s listed as a substitute, Surefour’s role on the team is not immediately clear.
Officially, the renowned DPS player is still a part of Cloud9’s North American roster. With Cloud9 signing a new team to participate in Overwatch Contenders and Overwatch League, the fate of the old roster is in limbo. As a team, they were unable to qualify for the North American Overwatch Contenders tournament.
The FaZe roster will be put to the test come Aug. 20 during their Overwatch Contenders match against FNRGFE.
