Orianna, Azir, and Ryze top list of Faker’s most played champions in his career

The Unkillable Demon King is arguably the best Orianna player in the world.

Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok has been considered by many League of Legends fans and pros alike as the greatest to ever play the game. One of the reasons why he’s stayed so consistent in his dominance is because of how flexible he is with his champion pool. But even Faker has his preferred champions on-stage, and a list of his top five most-played champs has revealed some of his preferences.

From a video on the YouTube channel Ranking History, we can see that from Faker’s debut until this past Spring Split, his most played champions are Orianna, Azir, Ryze, Galio, and Lulu.

Faker’s Orianna topped the list. He’s played the champion on-stage 58 times over the course of his competitive career. He also sports a 67 percent win rate on the champion, with an impressive 5.66 kill to death ratio. Faker’s amazing game IQ and playmaking skills are a perfect match for Orianna since her ultimate can change the tide of any teamfight.

Unfortunately, Faker hasn’t played Orianna since 2017 due to changes to the meta, but she still remains his most-played champion. One of the more surprising champions that people might point out in the top five would probably be Lulu, but it makes sense due to the changes in the meta as well.

In the past, Lulu provided a ton of mobility, crowd control, and utility for her team. She was surprisingly powerful in lane with some good shielding for herself and some reliable poke from her E and Q abilities. Faker was also really aggressive with how he played her and found some surprising solo kills as a result.

Meanwhile, Faker has 47 games on Azir with a 5.18 KDA, 44 games on Ryze with a 6.96 KDA, and 40 games on Galio with a 6.21 KDA. His KDA on Lulu is actually one of the highest in his top five most-played list with an impressive 7.45 KDA.

We now approach the start of the 2019 Mid-Season Invitational, where Faker and SKT will try to take home another international trophy. This past season, Faker has been playing a ton of Lissandra, Galio, and LeBlanc, but we could see more variety once the tournament’s group stage kicks off on Friday, May 10.
