How to play R.E.P.O. open beta

Why wait when you can hop in now?

Semibots, take arms! There’s no reason to wait while your brothers and sisters go out into battle alone, fighting off nightmarish creatures to please the mysterious Taxman. Exfiling just got a whole lot harder, so why don’t you make yourself useful and join the fight? Matchmaking is open, and anything is possible (aside from the strength strat).

There may be no new monsters in R.E.P.O., but that doesn’t mean the first big update from semiwork isn’t worth it. With a new expansive map to explore, quirky valuables to enjoy, and explosive weapons to experiment with, the first of (hopefully) many updates for this co-op horror throws mostly everything you learnt about the game out the window.

As R.E.P.O. is an early access game, this adventure is only available to PC players. So if you want to play the open beta and help semiwork out by testing the waters of this update, here are the steps to do so:

  1. Go to your Steam Library.
  2. Right-click on R.E.P.O. in your purchased games list.
  3. Select Properties.
  4. Open Betas.
  5. Open the drop-down menu in Beta Participation.
  6. Select beta – beta branch.
  7. Update R.E.P.O.
  8. Launch the game.
  9. Remember to swap back to the original version by selecting None on Beta Participation when the update officially drops.

As developer semiwork finalizes the update, the game has an open beta available for you to test and send through any bug reports on the official R.E.P.O. Discord Server. There’s a lot to explore, and Museum of Human Art is waiting for your grand entrance. You never know, this new map could be just what you needed to reach double digits.
