The Opening Night Live stream for Gamescom 2024 is now live, and there’s plenty of game reveals, release date announcements, and DLCs to get excited about.

All new announcements at Gamescom 2024 Opening Night Live pre-show

  • Dave the Diver DLC – Balatro and Potion Craft crossovers: A new DLC for Dave the Diver is slated for October, featuring a new mini game themed around the hit card game Balatro. If that’s not enough to get you excited, Potion Craft is also joining the mix. To what extent, though, remains unclear.
  • Sniper Elite Resistance – For those of you who like to always play sniper roles, this one’s for you. Sniper Elite Resistance is headed to console and PC in 2025, and you can wishlist it now on the platform of your choice.

  • Roadcraft – Announced for 2025
  • Nikoderiko: The Magical World: Nikoderiko: The Magical World gives us early Crash Bandicoot vibes. This colorful title is a platformer where you’ll ride dragons, seahorses, and other fun creatures and explore a beautiful and vibrant world.
  • Enotria: The Last Song – Release date: Sept. 19: Enotria: The Last Song is an indie soulslike that was previously delayed, but we finally have a release date for prospective players to look forward: Sept. 19.

  • We Harvest Shadows: The Steam storefront page for We Harvest Shadows describes this game as a first-person “farming horror allegory.” Players can build up their farm and try to survive the nights.
  • A.I.L.A: A.I.L.A is a first-person, a psychological horror from Brazilian indie game developer Pulsatrix Studios.
  • Revenge of the Savage Planet: Raccoon Logic unveiled the sequel to its 2020 first-person game, Journey to the Savage Planet during the Opening Night Live pre-show. This game will support both single-player and co-op.
  • InZOI: Character Studio: InZOI reminds us much of The Sims—even down to the weird, unrecognizable language of the characters. In this life sim, players will be able to make their characters, build houses, and create “unique story by controlling and observing the lives of ‘Zois,'” according to the game’s Steam page.

All new announcements at Gamescom 2024 Opening Night Live main broadcast

  • Borderlands 4 – Reveal for 2025: To kick off Opening Night Live, we were treated to the first official teaser trailer for Borderlands 4. It wasn’t much to go off of—just a series of futuristic, planetary shots—but it was enough to get fans of the franchise excited for what’s to come.
  • Call of Duty Black Ops 6 campaign reveal: Call of Duty fans got a look at what to expect from the Black Ops 6 campaign. The trailer shows off a campaign mission named “Most Wanted,” and it includes former U.S. president Bill Clinton in all of his glory.
  • Goat Simulator Remastered: We’ll be honest: we didn’t know what to expect from this trailer when it first aired. But the grand reveal at the end was just in line with previous Goat Simulator reveals.

You’ll join a unique cast of characters on a coming-of-age journey that offers plenty of choice in its narrative. Fans can mark their calendars for March 18 for this release.

  • Dune: Awakening gameplay and release window: We’ve known about Dune: Awakening for quite some time, but the game’s Opening Night Live trailer showed us a character creator, a gameplay mechanic involving weather and temperature, and a preview of weapons and combat. Get ready for this release in early 2025.
  • Reanimal: From the makers of Little Nightmares, Reanimal is a new horror game, and it looks absolutely chilling.
  • Genshin Impact’s arrival on Xbox: Genshin Impact is finally headed to Xbox, and fans of the Microsoft console can get their hands on it beginning Nov. 20.
  • Monster Hunter Wilds: Monster Hunter Wilds showed off a new trailer featuring creepy flower-spider monsters, electricity-wielding creatures, and more wild beasties that players will take down. This trailer definitely leaves us eager for the game’s release.
  • Naraka: Bladepoint x Tomb Raider: This wasn’t a crossover we were expecting, but we’re excited for it nonetheless. Naraka: Bladepoint fans should mark their calendars for Aug. 29 if they’re excited to welcome Lara Craft.

  • Monument Valley 3 reveal – The third game in the series is on its way. Fans of the first Monument Valley, released all the way back in 2014, is getting a third game in the franchise on Dec. 10 for Netflix Games.
  • Sid Meier’s Civilization VII
  • Starfield free cars update: That’s right: Starfield is no longer a walking simulator once you’ve touched down on a planet. The Rev-8, a planetary vehicle, will allow you to traverse planets much quicker than your own two feet could carry you.
  • Marvel Rivals release date and new heroes. After many betas, Marvel Rivals finally has a release date: Dec. 6.
  • Secret Level: A new Amazon Prime series, what’s being described as “a revolutionary gaming anthology series,” premieres on Dec. 10.
  • Delta Force Hawk Ops: Players will be able to try this first-person shooter out Steam Next Fest in October before its Q4 2024 early access for PC.
  • Kingdom Come Deliverance II: This trailer showed off all the medieval first-person glory ahead of the game’s Feb. 11, 2025 release.
  • Batman: Arkham Shadow gameplay trailer: This first-person Batman game is sure to enthrall fans of the DC Universe.

  • Herdling reveal: In Herdling, which releases in 2025, players play as a young kid herding giant, fluffy ram-like creatures across a gorgeous world.
  • Masters of Albion reveal: This city-builder allows players to take a very active role in the construction of Albion—including creating their foods, building their homes, and more. Switch between a top-down and third-person view of your hero, who defends the town from undead threats.
  • Squid Games Unleashed: Players will be able to leap into the world of Squid Games with this new Netflix release that hits mobiles “soon.”

  • Arena Breakout Infinite: New trailer
  • Overwatch 2 and Diablo 4 reveals: Blizzard Entertainment showed off a new Widowmaker skin in Overwatch 2 and more information about Diablo 4′s Vessel of Hatred in a new trailer.
  • The First Berserker Khazan: A new soulslike action RPG releasing in 2025 with an Oct. 11 to 20 closed beta test.
  • Ara History Untold: A new grand-strategy game releasing day one on Xbox Game Pass on Sept. 24.
  • Dark and Darker mobile release trailer: Dark and Darker got a trailer for its mobile release that players can begin registering for today.
  • Floatopia: You can change the weather, use super powers to grow and harvest crops, and build the island of your dream in this new co-op/multiplayer life sim. The game releases in 2025 but players can pre-register now.
  • Indiana Jones and the Great Circle: Bethesda’s new exploration game got a Dec. 9 release date alongside its new ONL gameplay trailer.
  • Mafia the Old Country: We got a first early look at Mafia the Old Country, a story set in 1900s Sicily. Releasing December 2024.
