ELEAGUE announced on Twitch’s E3 stream on Sunday that it will host the $250,000 Injustice 2 World Championship in October. Like previous ELEAGUE competitions, the finals of the championship event will air on cable network TBS in addition to being streamed on Twitch.

The championship will include players from all four of the game’s official tours: the Injustice 2 Pro Series, the GameStop Hometown Heroes series, Road to Pro, and Liga Latina. There will also be an open qualifier, which will take place on Oct. 21.

An exact breakdown of how many players will qualify from each event wasn’t provided during the announcement.

The Injustice 2 World Championship will mark ELEAGUE’s second foray into fighting games, but it will be the first time it serves as an official part of a fighting game championship circuit. The Street Fighter V Invitational, which concluded late last month and was won by Victor “Punk” Woodley, was run independent of the Capcom Pro Tour.

ELEAGUE’s return to fighting games should come as no surprise. The finale of its Street Fighter event drew over 330,000 viewers on TBS, which is the largest-ever TV audience for an ELEAGUE final and the fourth-largest in ELEAGUE history, according to The Next Level.

More details about the Injustice 2 World Championship are expected to be revealed in the coming weeks.
