Amazon’s Fallout television series transported everyone to the Wasteland earlier this year, and it looks like it won’t take long to come back.
In an interview with Variety, Jennifer Salke and Vernon Sanders, the heads of Amazon MGM Studios, spoke about a number of Prime Video shows and movies that were recently nominated for several primetime Emmys. Fallout was nominated for multiple awards, including Outstanding Drama Series and Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for Walton Goggins’ portrayal as The Ghoul. When asked about the success of Fallout, Salke and Sanders said they are committed to continuing the stories of Lucy, Maximus, and The Ghoul as quickly as possible.
“We’ve been fortunate because this was the vision all along,” Sanders said. “I think we’re ahead of schedule, in terms of being able to get Season 2 back.” Sanders then went on to explain that while the scripts for season two are already underway, they don’t have an exact launch date in mind right now.
For a production as massive as Fallout, hearing that scripts are ready and production could start soon is a definite positive, especially in today’s Hollywood landscape where fans commonly have to wait several years for a new season of their favorite show. And with critical praise, awards recognition, and high viewership numbers, Fallout has the ability to stay in the conversation as much as possible.
Salke and Sanders ended their talk of Fallout by teasing other video game related projects. We already know that a God of War television series is in the works at the streamer, and a Tomb Raider series is also being worked on. Hopefully, those two series will achieve the same success as Fallout.
