Unlike other Cheshire Cat Chaos duties focusing on Realms and the Cheshire Cat’s paw prints, Calmer of Chaos is all about digging up the past. You’ll need to explore every inch of the Valley and look for strange glowing cracks in the ground. These shimmering purple dig spots are scattered across biomes and hide fragments of a memory tied to the ever-tricky Cheshire Cat.

Once you’ve found a spot, equip your Royal Shovel and start digging. Each successful dig reveals a pink memory orb. Interacting with it will add a piece to the Cheshire Cat memory puzzle. Complete the full picture to finish the Calmer of Chaos duty and claim your reward.

Where to find the dig spots

These magical cracks can be tricky, especially in areas with dense foliage or uneven terrain. While they sparkle faintly when you get close, the easiest way to track them down is to use the Furniture mode camera. Open your furniture menu and zoom out. From this vantage point, you’ll see the purple cracks much more clearly, allowing you to find the dig spots across each biome without wandering in circles. Alternatively, munch on some food to fill up your meter and glide around your Valley to find them.

These cracked dig spots can show up in any biome, so be sure to check everywhere. There’s no specific pattern to where they appear, so patience (and frequent camera checks) is the best way to find all the purple rift cracks in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

To complete the full memory and finish the duty, you’ll need 10 unique memory fragments. That means finding and digging up at least 10 different rift spots because it’s possible to receive duplicate memory pieces. So, you may need to dig more than 10 spots to complete the full image.

Once the memory is complete, open the Events tab and navigate to the Cheshire Cat Chaos duties list. There, you can claim your prize: the whimsical and mysterious Twisting Rabbit Mirror, perfect for any Wonderland-inspired home decor.

The Cheshire Cat Chaos event runs from May 7 to 20, giving you a limited window to complete this duty (and the others) before it disappears. Calmer of Chaos is one of the more time-consuming tasks, so it’s best to start early and check back frequently for new dig spots.

Keep your shovel handy, your eyes peeled, and your curiosity high—you never know what surprises the Cheshire Cat has buried beneath your feet!
