Long Arm god rolls and how to get them in Destiny 2 Rite of the Nine

It finally has decent perks.

Rite of the Nine event overhauls three iconic Destiny 2 dungeons with reprised weapons and mechanics. So, if you ever wanted to use the Long Arm from Spire of the Watcher with new Arc Aspects, now is the perfect time.

Long Arm originally is a Tex Mechanica Arc scout rifle from the Spire of the Watcher dungeon. The old variant doesn’t have almost any decent perk combinations by today’s standards, but the Rite of the Nine event gave Long Arm the love it deserves.

Here are our PvE and PvP god rolls for the Long Arm in Destiny 2.

Long Arm PvE god roll

  • Barrel: Arrowhead Brake
  • Magazine: Tactical Mag
  • Perk one: Rapid Hit
  • Perk two: Rolling Storm
  • Masterwork: Reload Speed

Long Arm PvP god roll

  • Barrel: Arrowhead Brake
  • Magazine: Accurized Rounds
  • Perk one: Lone Wolf
  • Perk two: Precision Instrument
  • Masterwork: Range

For PvE, the Long Arm finally features Rolling Storm to get Bolt Charge stacks. You can pair it with an ammo perk like Rapid Hit, which increases reload speed when landing rapid precision hits, or Dual Loader, which loads two rounds at a time.

Subsistence is decent but doesn’t synergize with the Gravity Well Origin Trait. In add-dense environments, you won’t always be able to pick up nearby ammo by reloading because your mag is already full, thanks to Subsistence.

If you’re not leaning into Bolt Charge, there are other options. Dragonfly is great for more AoE damage and clearing. Explosive Payload grants a 15 percent flat damage increase. Redirection accumulates stacks by killing weaker enemies to deal 33 percent increased damage against stronger enemies.

Scouts in PvP haven’t been in the play for a long time unless you’re using an Exotic like Jade Rabbit. Lone Wolf in the third column increases aim assist, and Precision Instrument gives more forgiveness against Guardians with low Resilience. It can work, but don’t expect to outgun the meta.

However, with the latest additions of Radiant Dance Machine buffs to Lion Rampants and Lunafaction Boots, you can also try hip-fire perks in PvP (like Hip-Fire Grip in the third column), especially with the Tex Balanced Stock Origin Trait, which increases range, handling, and reload speed when dealing damage from the hip.

How to get Long Arm in Destiny 2

The reprised Long Arm is available during the Rite of the Nine event in Destiny 2. This event features three rotating dungeons, and when Spire of the Watcher is available, you can get the scout rifle as a drop from completing the encounters. Completing encounters on the Ultimatum difficulty awards Adept weapons.

As you play the event (and use Curios of the Nine), you accumulate Nonary Manifolds that you can then spend at the chest in the Rite of the Nine social space for additional drops. This is also where you can attune to any featured weapons to increase their drop rates.
