YouTuber Vital released yet another CS:GO Rewind video for 2018, and it’s a beautiful recap of an intense year of competition.
From the ELEAGUE Boston Major in January to the ESL Pro League Season Eight Finals in December, the CS:GO Rewind video goes through all of the memes, insane plays, and funny moments from the last year. Fans will feel a rollercoaster of emotions throughout the whole video since Vital found some of CS:GO’s most memorable times.
The highlight reel follows a similar format to YouTube’s annual “Rewind” video series, where trends and rising stars on the platform are compiled in one big music video. The biggest difference, however, is that Vital’s “Rewind” video is already being well-received by the CS:GO community, compared to YouTube’s 2018 Rewind video, which is now the most disliked video on YouTube.

Moments like Auguste “Semmler” Massonnat’s return for one event, the fall and disbanding of Virtus Pro, Vince Hill eating a boot after losing a bet, and Cloud9’s Major win in overtime are among the best throughout the video. But overall, Danish Prime Minister Lokke Rasmussen’s speech at BLAST Pro Series Copenhagen will hit you in the feels toward the end.
“Counter-Strike might be a world of its own, but it’s also an including world that brings people together across countries, continents, and origin,” Rasmussen said. “Here you are not judged by your nationality, your religion, or your appearance but on your abilities—to play, to cooperate, and to be part of something bigger. And that is badly needed in the world today, and in this way, you are an inspiration for the world of tomorrow. You are gaming pioneers.”
In a post on Reddit, Vital said that he hopes to be around on YouTube for the next CS:GO Rewind.
