How to find a Golden Skull in DMZ

Look no further!

DMZ’s season three extravaganza arrived on April 12 and gave Call of Duty fans a collection of new missions and challenges to overcome. Some quests stick around from season to season while new ones make their triumphant debuts. Sometimes these quests require players to find the location of specific loot like Golden Skulls.

Players will scour the sandy Al Mazrah landscape, digging through chests and dead bodies alike to find the loot to complete these missions. All the towns and locations within Al Mazrah have pathways that’ll keep you entertained for hours, but it can get difficult to keep track of where you’re going with enemies lurking around every corner.

If they want a change of scenery, operators can also drop into the smaller, foggy Ashika Island, where there are far fewer squads fighting on a far smaller map. If you’re brave enough, you can try to break into Tsuki Castle and secure the Ashika Island weapons case—if you can get past the Bombmaker, that is.

In addition to exploring the maps, players can also tick off the faction missions, which grant them progress and specific rewards (including more insured weapon slots if you get far enough). You’ll likely tackle the Dealmaker in DMZ season three, which requires you to get a Gold Skull, an Electric Drill, and a Gas Can. Unfortunately for players, the elusive Gold Skull isn’t craftable, so you’ll have to go hunting. Here are the best spots to locate Gold Skulls across both Ashika and Al Mazrah.

Best places to find Golden Skulls in DMZ

Killing bosses (The Scavenger, Bombmaker, Pyro)

DMZ‘s most dangerous enemies are a good source of expensive loot, which can include Gold Skulls. The Scavenger, DMZ‘s most infamous loot goblin, can appear across both Ashika Island and Al Mazrah, and killing him has a good chance of dropping a Gold Skull. Other bosses, such as the Bombmaker and the Pyro, can also drop these resources.

If you’re looking to find these skulls as soon as possible and don’t want to tackle bosses, though, you’ll want to head to areas that can spawn high-value items, including:

Police Stations

Cop shops should be your first stop in your search for a Gold Skull. Head to one of the various Police Stations in Al Mazrah City, but prepare for enemies to try and ruin all the fun. Gather some of your trustworthy friends and gear up to the teeth. You’ll likely be heading into a firefight, but it can be worth the effort.

Sawah Hotel

Trek your way up the stairs of the Sawah Hotel located in the middle of the village. Search Room 302 and 303 for Orange boxes inside these rooms and other surrounding areas, and it all comes down to luck.

You’ll likely find a Gold Skull in the Sawah Hotel, so make it your first stop. If it doesn’t happen immediately, try again.

Players will also be able to find them in the various safes scattered around the map. Crack these bad boys open and there’s always a chance you’ll find a Gold Skull sitting pretty inside. However, this is the least likely way to find them, so don’t get your hopes up.
