Before you even think about making Forged Steel in 7 Days to Die, play the game for a while and level up your Advanced Engineering.

You should also try to upgrade your Advanced Engineering as much as you can because it will lower the amount of raw material you need to craft Forged Steel. You also need a way to craft Forged Steel, so make sure you have a Forge in your base.

How to farm Forged Steel fast in 7 Days to Die

The simplest and fastest way to get Forged Steel in 7 Days to Die is to dig up Lumps of Clay, convert it into Clay (Forged), and finally turn the forged Clay into Forged Steel. The higher your Advanced Engineering level is, the less Clay (Forged) you’ll need.

At Advanced Engineering level five, you need only two Lumps of Clay to create one Forged Steel (Two Lumps of Clay turn into 10 Clay (Forged) which turns into one  Forged Steel).

To get Lumps of Clay, grab or make a shovel, and start digging in the dirt. You’ll get a ton of Lumps of Clay this way. Naturally, to convert Lumps of Clay into Clay (Forged) and Forged Steel, you need to use the Forge.
