On Aug. 16, the trailer for the first season, Invasion, dropped. This The First Descendant season continues the main campaign story, with Vulgus now targeting the depths of Ingris’s dungeons. With this comes new Invasion Dungeon challenges, which see you clearing enemies as fast as possible to get maximum rewards. This new mode will be available for two randomly picked Infiltration Operations (on Hard difficulty).

The First Descendant season one also introduces a new power scaling system called Inversion Reinforcement. This system unlocks new abilities and powers throughout the season, offering something new ways to get stronger if you’ve already maxed out all of your builds.

Aside from new dungeons and progression, we get the usual batch of new Descendants, weapons, and a Void Intercept Battle. New Descendant Hailey, who we got a glimpse of in the teaser trailer, arrives with TFD season one and comes armed with an “anti-material sniper rifle, sub-zero bullets, and a storm snare.”

To perfect your Hailey (or Viessa) build, you can unlock the Frost Watcher scout rifle through seasonal content. It reduces enemies’ Chill resistance and increases the damage of your icy skills. Another new weapon this season is Excava, an assault rifle that charges up a powerful grenade shot available from the battle pass.

More additions, including Ultimate Freyna, Freyna’s story quest, and a new Void Intercept Battle, are all coming to TFD in three big updates throughout season one, starting Aug. 29. Unfortunately, we currently don’t know what exactly is available on launch day, and what’s coming in later updates.
