NIVEA MEN’s Clean Sheets challenge concludes in an epic streamer showdown

After a nail-bitingly tense tournament, NIVEA MEN has crowned the winners of its Clean Sheets challenge. To highlight the cleansing power of its skincare range, NIVEA MEN paired top EA Sports FC pros with influencers who were complete strangers to the game. 

But these pros couldn’t just carry their partners. Instead, only the influencers were allowed to score, while the pro out of each pair laid the groundwork, battling to keep a clean sheet. There were three teams, named for NIVEA MEN’s complexion-cleaning products, and while there was no shortage of action, there could be only one conquering duo. So just who came out on top, and did they manage to maintain a clean sheet?

The winner of NIVEA MEN’s Clean Sheets challenge was Team Deep Surge (TheRedCapsicum75 & Tarquin Myburg), who saw off all comers. And, in a stunning display of digital sportsmanship, this pair did keep a clean sheet, winning every single match! 

The first step on the road to victory was facing off against Team Sensitive Force (Mitch Austin & Louis Phillips), where they won both home and away legs. RedCapsicum was stunned by Tarquin’s skill. He may not have been a pro, but he matched the power of NIVEA MEN’s Deep Face and Beard Wash and completely cleaned up. Fans rallied behind Tarquin, dubbing him Tarquinaldo, and the pair succeeded in battling their way to the final round.

However, their final match against Team Rapid Fire (JarradHD & Will Taylor) was no cakewalk. As JarradHD put it, “My job was to put it on a plate for Will”, and Will served up goal after fantastic goal. Undefeated up to this point, Rapid Fire made Deep Surge fight for every goal, and it was a shockingly close call. 

Rapid Fire only needed a draw to win, and, at 0-0, it was looking grim for Deep Surge. “We were peppering with no success and there was hardly any time left,” RedCapsicum says. But Deep Surge rallied for a 1-0 win, making them the grand winners of NIVEA MEN’s Clean Sheets challenge. Every team demonstrated some serious skill, and the duos really bonded over the challenge, and viewers had a real blast cheering the teams on.

Twelve lucky viewers had their own wins, selected to receive a Shock Blue Xbox controller and a NIVEA MEN prize pack.
