IEM Katowice 2017 Event Preview (LoL)

The championship for Intel Extreme Masters season 11 is upon us.

The Intel Extreme Masters (IEM) tournament series has returned for the Season 11 World Championship. The games will be played at the Spodek Arena in Katowice, where eight teams will be competing for a cut of the $150,000 prize pool.

Location


The event will be held at the Spodek Arena in Katowice, Poland. The address for the venue is aleja Korfantego 35, 40-005 Katowice, Poland.

Basic Information


The eight teams competing will be split up into two groups, with two teams advancing from each group. Each group is set up in a double-elimination style, meaning each team has two chances before they are eliminated.

All games played in the group stage will be best-of-one matches, then moving into the semifinals, games will be best-of-three series. The grand finals will be a best-of-five series, where the winner will be crowned the IEM Season 11 champion.
