Super Smash Bros. Ultimate uses a weird system to rank its players online. Global Smash Power, or GSP, is a number that shows off how much better you are with a single character in a particular game mode against other players around the world.
For example, if you have a GSP score of one million with Incineroar in online quickplay matches, you’re better than 999,999 other Incineroar players across the globe.
As more players pick up Incineroar, however, your number could increase by several thousand more points. In short, the bigger the number, the better the player.

So, what exactly is the highest GSP score that’s reachable online in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate?
Well, there isn’t really a way to tell—and even if we were to discover the number right now for each character, it’d change mere seconds after we reported it with more players buying the game and playing online by the minute.
We can, of course, theorize what the highest GSP is at the moment. When you factor in the amount of units sold (as of Jan. 3, 2019) and assume that everyone plays the same character online, then the highest GSP could be anywhere around six to seven million points.
The highest GSP seen by other players, however, is close to two million GSP. One player has even reached three million GSP with Cloud, although it’s slowing down, which seems to signal that there isn’t many more Cloud players ahead of him.
Of course, that number will only keep increasing over time, so just aim to get the highest score you can by winning a ton of matches online. Who knows, you might even make it into Elite Smash Battles if you’re good enough.
