The Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Mid Season Cup 2025 (MLBB MSC 2025) is bringing the best teams from around the globe to the Esports World Cup (EWC) for a shot at supremacy and a slice of the massive $3 million prize money.

This mid-year international showdown features 23 teams from various MLBB Professional Leagues (MPL) and regional qualifiers, competing across three action-packed stages.

Here’s a rundown of everything you need to know about the MSC 2025, happening from July 10 to August 2.

Previously known as the Mobile Legends Southeast Asia Cup, the Mid Season Cup (MSC) is the second-biggest international tournament of the year, right behind the MLBB World Championship. The 2025 edition marks the second time MSC is part of the Esports World Cup, further cementing the game’s status as a top-tier global esport.

Malaysia’s Selangor Red Giants come into MSC 2025 as the reigning champions after edging out the Philippines’ Falcons AP.Bren 4-3 in a nail-biting grand final last year. That win was historic, as it marked the first time a Malaysian team claimed an international title.

MSC 2025 format

Intense matches await. Photo via Esports World Cup Foundation

The tournament is is split into two phases:

  • Wildcard: July 10 to 13
  • Main Event
    • Group Stage: July 23 to 27
    • Knockout Stage: July 30 to August 2

MSC 2025 kicks off with the Wildcard stage, where eight teams are randomly drawn into two groups. They battle it out in a double elimination format. The top two teams from each group then move on to the Wildcard playoffs, which use a single elimination bracket. The first two matches are best-of-three, while the final is a best-of-five. Only the winner from this round secures a spot in the Group Stage.

Next up is the Group Stage, where a draw is done once again to divide the 16 teams into two groups. Here’s how the teams are divided:

Group AGroup B
Team Liquid PH
Ultra Legends
ONIC ID
CFU Gaming
SRG.OG
Virtus.pro
Mythic SEAL
Corinthians
HomeBois
Team Flash
Team Spirit
DianFengYaoGuai
RRQ Hoshi
Area 77
ONIC PH
Aurora Turkiye

Similar to the Wildcard, the Group Stage features a double elimination format, with all matches set in best-of-three. The top four teams from each group punch their ticket to the final phase.

Finally, the Knockout Stage adopts a single elimination format. Quarterfinals, semifinals, and the third-place match are all best-of-five, leading up to a best-of-seven grand final to crown the MSC 2025 champion.
