MPL PH Season 16 format

Similar to past seasons, MPL PH Season 16 is split into two stages: regular season and playoffs.

The regular season, running from Aug. 22 to Oct. 12, follows a double round-robin format, meaning each team is set to face every other team twice throughout the stage. All matches during this phase are best-of-three.

Teams earn one point for every series win, while a loss does not grant any points. At the end of the regular season, only the top six teams on the standings will move forward to the playoffs.

The playoffs feature a hybrid elimination format. Teams seeded third to sixth begin their campaign in the first round, which is played in a do-or-die format. Meanwhile, the top two seeds from the regular season receive a bye to the second round, where the competition shifts to a double-elimination format, giving teams a second chance even if they lose once.

All matches in the playoffs are best-of-five, except for the lower bracket final and grand final, where teams clash in best-of-seven series. The top two teams at the end of the season qualify for the M7 World Championship.
