MPL ID Season 16: Schedule, results, standings, more

Vying for a seat at the world championship.

The fierce battles at the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Indonesia Season 16 (MPL ID Season 16) extend far beyond domestic glory: they carry the weight of an entire region.

Nine of Indonesia’s strongest squads clash for just two tickets to the MLBB M7 World Championship, where the nation hopes to reclaim its long-lost throne on home soil. Indonesia made history as the first world champion at M1, but the Philippines has dominated every edition since.

Now, Indonesian teams are determined to rewrite that narrative. Four-time MPL ID champions ONIC are looking to lead the charge, with perennial powerhouse RRQ Hoshi seeking to follow. However, Team Liquid ID and the other contenders are equally hungry to restore Indonesia’s place at the top of the global stage.

Here’s everything you need to know about MPL Indonesia Season 16.

MPL ID Season 16 format

The league is structured into the regular season and playoffs.

Kicking off on August 22, the regular season adopts a double round-robin format, with each team facing every other team twice. All matches during this stage are contested in best-of-three series. Teams earn one point for each series victory, while defeats yield no points. At the conclusion of the regular season, only the top six teams advance to the playoffs.

The playoffs use a hybrid elimination format. Teams seeded third to sixth enter in the opening round, which is played in a single-elimination, do-or-die setting. In contrast, the top two seeds are granted direct entry into the second round, where the bracket transitions to a double-elimination format, giving teams a second chance even after a loss.

Playoff matches are conducted in best-of-five series, with the exception of the lower bracket final and grand final, both of which are decided through best-of-seven showdowns. The top two of the league secure their spots at the M7 World Championship.
