Season two of Marvel Rivals has been live for a while now, so naturally, the question on everyone’s mind is: when does the mid-season update drop? After all, like every major update, season 2.5 is set to bring exciting new content, including a new hero, costumes, and more.
For all the curious minds, here’s everything you need to know about Marvel Rivals’ season 2.5 and its release window.
When does Marvel Rivals’ season 2.5 release?
While NetEase hasn’t officially announced the release date of season 2.5 in Marvel Rivals, we can make some solid guesses based on previous trends and in-game timers.

According to the battle pass timer, season two is expected to run for three months, ending around July 10. Mid-season updates are typically scheduled to drop six to seven weeks into a season. If we were to consider season 1.5, it was released on Feb. 21, exactly six weeks (1.5 months) after the season one update that went live on Jan. 10. Season one ended on April 11, paving the way for season two.
Based on the trend and according to reliable sources, season 2.5 of Marvel Rivals will release on May 30 (seven weeks into season two). To make things easier, here’s a countdown to help you keep track.
Everything we know about Marvel Rivals season 2.5 so far
NetEase is yet to officially unveil everything that season 2.5 has in store for us, but we’ve already got some teasers. There are plenty of leaks you can pick up on to fuel your speculation, too.
For starters, Ultron—a powerful supervillain from the Marvel Universe—is going to be the star of the upcoming mid-season update. According to leaks, he’s joining the roster as a Strategist hero who’ll offer significant support and defense capabilities as well as damage potential.
Other leaks have teased the arrival of a new map named Arakko with season 2.5. Unlike Krakoa, Arakko will be a Convoy map: You’ll be required to escort a moving vehicle to the end for a win.
Besides a new hero and map, Marvel Rivals’ season 2.5 is also anticipated to bring new events, game modes, and free and premium costumes for your favorite heroes. Besides all the new content, NetEase will likely introduce a bunch of hero balance adjustments to straighten the current meta and incorporate crucial feedback from the community. All in all, it’s a patch we’re all eagerly waiting for.
