How to complete Mutant and Proud! achievement in Marvel Rivals

To me, my X-Men!

Marvel Rivals season two is live, adding a few new achievements to track and unlock. Some of these are pretty straightforward and objective-based, but a few are vague. Since the new character joining the roster, Emma Frost is a Mutant herself, several new achievements are based around her.

One of these achievements, titled “Mutant and Proud!” requires a bit of luck and possibly some teamwork to earn. It’s not as straightforward as others and may take a few attempts, especially if you rely on random teammates.

Best ways to complete the Mutant and Proud! achievement in Marvel Rivals

To earn the Mutant and Proud! achievement in Marvel Rivals, you need to listen to one conversation between mutants.

This refers to the pre-baked conversations certain characters can have at the start of the match before the objectives are actually unlocked. Essentially, there needs to be two mutants on your team that have a conversation with each other and you’re in their proximity.

Here are a few tips to get the Mutant and Proud! achievement:

  • You can only earn this achievement in Quick Match or Competitive. It doesn’t unlock in other game modes.
  • Ask your friends on the team to choose Mutants at the start of the round, even if they want to switch to something later. This will increase the chances of a conversation initiating even if they don’t plan on playing with these characters.
  • Choose a Mutant yourself, because your selected character can have a conversation with another Mutant on your team.
  • Try playing the mutant-themed Krakoa map, which might trigger these character-specific conversations often.
  • While I’m pretty sure most mutants have conversations with each other, I recommend selecting the following groups just to be on the safe side, because I’ve heard interactions between them during the start of matches.
    • Emma Frost and Wolverine
    • Magnet and Psylocke
    • Wolverine and Magneto
    • Storm and Wolverine
    • Magneto and Emma Frost
    • Magik and Storm
  • Turn on subtitles to check if the characters are talking to each other.

After you’re done with a match, the achievement will pop up. Make sure to actually finish the match and don’t leave after you’ve heard the conversation at the start.

The following characters are confirmed Mutants in Marvel Rivals.

  • Storm

Marvel Rivals does not consider Scarlet Witch a mutant, which has been the case in the comics and MCU content for a while now.

So go be a mutant and feel proud of yourself. Even though this might take a few matches to get right, actually earning the achievement doesn’t require much from you.
