Yunara’s first pro LoL pentakill arrives less than a month after release

That was fast.

It’s been barely a month since League of Legends’ newest champion, Yunara, arrived on Summoner’s Rift, and the pro scene has already witnessed her first pentakill.

The Unbroken Faith was on full display as Invictus Gaming’s ADC, GALA, dismantled the opposition in LPL 2025 Split 3. In a decisive mid-game teamfight near the Atakhan, GALA’s Yunara turned the tide against Anyone’s Legend, securing all five kills in rapid succession to record the first-ever Yunara pentakill in professional League.

GALA is no stranger to pentakills. A frequent highlight-maker during LPL splits, he has built a reputation for delivering when it matters most. With this latest feat, his career tally climbs to 10 pentakills, five of which came on his signature champion, Kai’Sa. Yunara is now his sixth unique champion that GALA has used to secure a pentakill, showcasing his sheer dominance in the bottom lane.

Last month, T1’s ADC Gumayusi shared his thoughts on Yunara, calling her OP, and she’s slowly jumping in priority across regions in esports. With Fearless Drafts in play, players are looking for fresh options to save their high-priority picks for later matches, and Yunara is quickly emerging as one of the most valuable alternatives.

Although Yunara is only beginning to see play across the major regions, the LPL has featured her the most, with five appearances and three wins. As the meta develops, she might become a high-priority ADC pick for teams to pick or ban in their series. And if the pentakill is any indication, she might already be on her way there.

After a fairly disappointing run with LNG Esports in 2024, GALA looks far more comfortable on the iG roster, and he will be aiming to close out the LPL 2025 Split 3 on a high note to secure a spot at Worlds later this year.
