After failing to qualify for the European League Championship Series (LCS) with his team, Danish top laner Mike “Wickd” Petersen is now a free agent, sources close to the player tell the Daily Dot. Petersen has begun fielding offers from other teams.

Petersen's team, Denial, failed to qualify for the LCS after it lost to Team Dignitas EU (now known as FollowEsports) and Gamers2 in the Challenger Series playoffs.

Petersen served as the captain and one of its most consistent performers after founding the team with Rasmus "MrRalleZ" Skinneholm (who later took an offer for Team ROCCAT) in early May. Named “Team Gravy,” it was acquired by Denial Esports on May 29.

At one time Petersen was at the top of competitive League. He was originally a member of Alliance (and later Elements,) the super team assembled by his long-standing teammate Henrik “Froggen” Hansen on Dec. 10, 2013 and previously was a member of the fabled Counter Logic Gaming Europe lineup.

It's unclear what the rest of his Denial Esports teammates have planned, though sources tell the Daily Dot that the team might disband. Among the remaining players, Paweł "Woolite" Pruski, like Petersen, will likely be a target as roster changes have begun around Europe.
