Get on the Summoner’s Rift!

League currently has four international events in 2025, which are the First Stand, MSI, Worlds, and EWC 2025, which happens in July. While winning the EWC doesn’t give the teams any advantage in the Worlds tournament later in the year, it definitely secures their place in the next year’s EWC, while having a shot at the lion’s share of the $2 million prize pool.

League of Legends EWC 2025 schedule and format

Unlike last year’s single-elimination brackets, League EWC 2025 is split into two stages in 2025 due to the increase in team number to 12 from last year’s eight.

Lower-seeded teams (seeds 5-12) start in the GSL group stage, with the top two teams from each group securing a spot in the playoffs. After that, they face the four top-seeded teams in a single-elimination bracket for a chance to lift the trophy.

The League EWC 2025 starts on July 16 and runs until Jul 20, 2025, where the last standing team gets to cement their legacy in the tournament. While the groups aren’t formed yet among the teams, we’ll update the piece to bring you the latest scores and schedule.

Who was the winner of the last League of Legends EWC 2024?

T1 are the defending champion of the Esports World Cup 2024, defeating Top Esports 3-1 in the grand final. While the same squad isn’t playing for T1 as Zeus has been replaced by Doran in the top lane, fans would love T1 to replicate the magic and add another accolade to the Korean team’s legacy as well as Faker. However, other teams would also be eager to get their hands on the EWC trophy after missing out last year.
