After having a flawless 18-0 domestic performance at the 2025 LCK Spring split, the defending MSI champion Gen.G are looking to have a strong how at the international stage. The synergy between Chovy and Canyon is lethal, as the duo has consistently been the strongest link for the team. Korean fans will have high expectations for the team to maintain their solid performances against the world’s best.

On the other hand, things are finally looking up for T1 because they overcame their average split performances with a dominating show at the playoffs. They defeated KT and decimated HLE, the champions of the First Stand tournament. As the Korean team won the First Stand, T1 will receive a direct entry to the main event without having to compete in the play-ins.

Following a disappointing exit from the 2025 FST, the region is sending two powerful Chinese squads to hopefully bring the China’s dominance to the international stage. Anyone’s Legend won the 2025 LPL Split 2 after an excellent performance on stage, and they’ll be looking to start a new dynasty after BLG and RNG’s dominant show at the MSI.

BLG, on the other hand, has had the toughest luck in recent MSI finals, having lost to Gen.G last year in Chengdu and to JD Gaming in 2023 in London. This year, they have another chance to make the finals and hopefully bring the MSI trophy home, making up for the last-stage upsets of recent years.

Europe has a new LEC champion, led by Javier “Elyoya” Prades Batalla. Movistar KOI are looking to be the next big threat from the region. The team are dominated by talented Spanish players, along with Jojopyun, who has proved himself in two different regions now. As they won the spring split, they’ll be going straight to the main event.

The region’s only MSI victory in 2019 with G2 Esports and Caps-centric team is still capable of pulling a major show from the play-ins and has the potential to have a deep run at the tournament. The team need no introduction as they’re one of he most dominant teams from Europe.

LTA North and South (America)

With the new LTA rebrand, combining the teams into two parts—North and South—American audiences should be anticipating the first-ever MSI victory, and who better than FlyQuest from the LTA North? Filled with veterans such as Bwipo, Inspired, and many others who have consistently performed for the team, fans will have their eyes on these stars to scatter the dominant narrative.

LTA South is sending FURIA, the Brazilian squad starting in the play-in stages of the tournament, and fans are expecting them to pull some upsets as the underdog.

CTBC Flying Oyster are the only team from the First Stand tournament that qualified for MSI 2025. They shocked many fans with their impressive performance in FST, losing 3-2 to Karmine Corp. The team were just one win away from making it to the finals, and fans will have high expectations of them to shake up the power dynamics in the table.

GAM Esports from Vietnam are the runners-up for the 2025 LCP, losing narrowly to CTBC in the finals, so they are also an exciting entry to the play-ins.
