Brawling with the minions without a worry in the world.

Brawl is the latest League of Legends game mode, landing on May 14, and it perfectly captures the Bandle City region.

League has brought multiple big game modes in the last few years, such as Arena and Swarm, that have landed well with players looking to escape from the regular grind and try different game genres with familiar-looking faces. Brawl is also walking the same path as the developer attempts to bring a quick alternative for players to experiment with champions without the pressure of knowing advanced mechanics.

Brawl is a Team Deathmatch version of League, and the goal is simple. Each team starts with 250 health, and the first to reduce their opponent’s health to zero wins the match. To deal damage to your opponents, you can try these:

  • Enemy Takedowns: Killing an enemy champion directly deals five damage to the enemy team. This is the best and fastest way of dealing damage to the enemy, so always be aggressive and have synergy with your teammates to eliminate enemies.
  • Minion Takedowns: If the enemy team is not at low health, you can also eliminate the enemy minions to deal one damage to the opponents.. This is a good way of coming back from a losing match.
  • Minion inside portals: Both teams have portals, which frequently spawn minions, and if you can tank the enemy damage and push them inside the opponent’s portals, then each of the minions deals one damage. This provides a strategic layer to minions, who are usually just a way to earn gold on the Rift.

There are camps on either side of the lane, and they provide powerful buffs to the players, which players might prioritize after minions to get an edge on the enemies in Brawl. While we don’t have any clarity on the types of buffs that players will receive, Riot has said that these buffs will “help create more dynamic fights,” allowing players to try a variety of strategies and champions to have fun in Bandel City.

While some might argue that the mode is similar to ARAM, its map is very small and wide, and players can choose their champions. There are also no turrets like ARAM. It makes it easier to jump back into the action and have a good old brawl with the enemy players to score the highest number of points and win the match.
