Faker can’t stop breaking records—so he set another one

The GOAT sets a record only he could reach.

Faker has added yet another milestone to his illustrious career, becoming the first player in League of Legends history to reach 1,000 kills on the international stage.

The veteran T1 mid laner hit the four-digit number during his match against domestic arch-rivals Gen.G at MSI 2025, further cementing his legacy as the greatest League player of all time.

While teams work hard to make their way to Worlds and MSI to bask in that international glory, Faker has not only been winning these events for T1 but also leading the team from the front in the mid lane. The 1,000 international kills are yet another testament to Faker’s longevity and consistency while playing against the best teams in the world.

Since his debut in 2013, his reputation has risen from a promising rookie to an Unkillable Demon King on the international stage. He stayed all these years with T1, helping them win three World Championship titles and countless other accolades that have defined an era. His name is synonymous with esports, and he still looks to be in pristine form.

To put the number into perspective, the second on the list is Chinese legend Uzi, who sits at around 350 kills—not even half of Faker’s international kills record. In just three years, he has doubled the number of kills to sit at the top of the throne uncontested by other esports players.

Over the years, even as the competitive scene evolved and new generations of talent rose to challenge him, Faker has remained at the top of his game. He has constantly adapted his playstyle and continues to deliver when it matters most. While his in-game role has stayed in the mid lane, his invaluable wealth of knowledge comes in clutch for T1 in their international success at various tournaments.

As T1 lost their first series in MSI 2025 against Gen.G today, they’ll have another chance to prove their mettle in the lower bracket finals against the winning Chinese team.
