In the blink of an eye, MSI 2019 is over and G2 Esports have lifted the trophy.

Today’s final matchup was a complete stomp from beginning to end across Summoner’s Rift as the world’s best team absolutely ripped apart Team Liquid in every matchup. Rasmus “Caps” Winther was, of course, a huge part of this victory and is taking home the Finals MVP award for his efforts.

Caps was dominant in this series and constantly put pressure on Liquid’s Nicolaj Jensen in the mid lane. He was also helping out his teammates by roaming to the bottom and top lanes multiple times. The European superstar also had several huge outplays during the series, including a brilliant one-vs-two against Jensen and Jake “Xmithie” Puchero on Irelia.

Caps was a huge factor in G2’s success on Sylas in game two, finishing the match with 10 kills. His ability to create plays with the various stolen ultimates was a great tool for G2 to keep the pressure on Liquid in the later stages of the match.

An honorable mention for Finals MVP goes to G2’s support,
Mihael “Mikyx” Mehle. His play was huge in neutralizing Liquid’s star-studded bot lane duo, which was a clear focus for the team in this series. Whether he was on Thresh or Rakan, Mikyx was able to find the perfect engages for his team to capitalize on.

Marcin “Jankos” Jankowski was also essential for G2’s quest toward the championship. He outjungled Xmithie throughout the three games and stayed aggressive with his pathing. Alongside Mikyx, Jankos roamed around the map with ease and put his team ahead.

The team’s superstar mid laner might have taken home the MVP award, but it was a true team effort that secured the championship for G2.
