How to unlock Ice Key minigame in DELTARUNE

Before unlocking the Ice Key, you first need to unlock the secret minigame it’s hidden behind. The key to accessing this minigame is getting an S-rank in the first round of Tenna’s Game Show. To achieve an S-Rank in Tenna’s Game Show, you need to score at least 1,500 points, which will then grant you access to the locked S-Rank doors.

After obtaining the S-rank, you can now access the door marked with an S and a star in the dressing room. The dressing room is just a small hallway with a vending machine and some NPCs who will tell you that there are more games locked behind the door. With an S-rank, you can proceed through this door into the secret area.

Head inside and take the path on the left, where you’ll find a game console. It’ll tell you that you need a controller to play. Head back to the main hallway on the right, and a controller will drop down on the floor. Pick it up and head back to the console to start the Ice Key minigame.

How to get the Ice Key in DELTARUNE

You’ll return to the Zelda-like top-down mini-game but without your party this time. The goal is to become strong enough to chop down trees. Once you can chop down trees, you just need to cut them down in any direction and proceed through a few screen changes until the Ice Key chest spawns in front of you.

To become stronger, you need to start by grabbing the sword found in the mail room. You can find it on the southern side of the map. Head south until you see a fish in the pond, and then follow these directions:

  • Go Left -> Go Down -> Go Down -> Go Right -> Go Down -> Staircase

Grab the sword inside, which lets you kill enemies around the map until you reach level three. These kills won’t ruin your pacifist run. At level three, you can now cut down cacti blocking your path around the map. You’ll find an area covered by purple haze on the east side of the map by cutting down cacti blocking the path.

Your goal is to kill all enemies and reach the maximum level, which will unlock the ability to chop down trees. Now just chop away in any direction until you find the Ice Key chest.

How to use the Ice Key in DELTARUNE

When you complete the second round of Tenna’s minigame with an S-rank, you can return here to find a brand new mini-game waiting for you. The next key item to unlock the hidden boss is hidden behind a path that requires the Ice Key to unlock. Missing the Ice Key can lock you out of the hidden boss encounter, so make sure to grab it as soon as possible.
