What does Corpse do in CloverPit?

Put it together. Piece by piece.

CloverPit is a devil’s prank on you, and creepy things are bound to happen when the devil’s involved. After you unlock a few drawers, you can come across a Corpse charm. While not the most pleasant item, it’s a must if you plan to escape.

You can get a Corpse in one of your empty drawers by rolling a 666 on the slot machine for the first time or putting an item in the drawer during the previous run. When you start a new run, every drawer with an item will have a Corpse.

Open the drawer and equip the Corpse. It has a dedicated slot on the machine (it doesn’t take any regular charm slots), and there’s no way to discard it. If the Corpse is inside the drawer at the end of any deadline, it disappears.

Corpses don’t seem to appear in the regular Lucky Charm shop, where you can buy charms like Depression. If you need a Corpse for the run, it’s best to prepare it using drawers and restart the run.

Ultimately, Corpses and a Skull are needed to escape the room and finish the game. There are two known endings in CloverPit, and both require collecting four Corpses and a Skull. All these charms (if you can call them that) have some use outside of escaping.

On its own, a Corpse increases debt by five percent, making every deadline more difficult to hit, especially because you can’t get rid of it until the end of the run. But a Skull spawns a random free charm in every drawer at the start of a deadline, based on how many Corpses you have equipped.

This means you can have up to four free charms at every deadline while increasing your debt by up to 25 percent. Having maximum debt is probably not the best idea, but you can take advantage of the effect if you rolled an accidental 666.
