These console commands do not dramatically change the game as if they were a mod, but they provide small benefits to you while you’re playing. This might be more suitable for content creators or those who want to take screenshots when they’re playing in the middle of a match. Here’s what you need to know about the console commands in R.E.P.O. and how you get them to work.

How console commands work in R.E.P.O.

Using Console Commands while playing R.E.P.O

When you want to use any type of console command that is viable in R.E.P.O., activate the chat text and type in the ‘/’ slash, which you can find on the bottom right of your keyboard. It should be next to your right shift key. After you type this in, write out the full console command, and the game should change to reflect the console command you’re using.

These console commands and chat choices are only available during a multiplayer game. If you’re playing a single-player game by yourself, and you’re not in multiplayer, the chat command does not appear, and you won’t be able to receive the benefits.

Given the available console commands that have come up in R.E.P.O., it makes sense why the console commands don’t work in a single-player game. Plus, you shouldn’t need to pull up the chat bar if you’re playing a match by yourself. The developers likely removed this as someone in a single-player game doesn’t actively need the chat, even if they could use it for other things, such as posting messages to viewers when sharing their screen.

All secret console commands in R.E.P.O.

There are only a handful of console commands you can use while playing R.E.P.O. These were recently revealed and shared by the development team in an official video, meaning there could be more commands. As we learn more about them and how they work, we’ll be updating this page with any discoveries by players in the R.E.P.O. community.

If you want to remove any of these visual mod changes to your game, activate the chat command by clicking the T button on your keyboard and type the command in a second time. This should bring everything back to normal. You can also leave R.E.P.O., which returns these settings back to the default choices. You’ll have to type in the commands in a new game if you want them to reappear.

Console CommandHow it works
/cinematicThe cinematic command removes the UI on your screen, giving you a cleaner experience. This is perfect for anyone who wants to take a clean screenshot of your R.E.P.O. match, or if you want to use a thumbnail for a video.
/green screenThe green screen command places a massive green screen in front of your character. You can move your viewpoint around to change what the green screen is covering, providing you several unique ways to come up with screenshots and overlays that you might want to use for a R.E.P.O screenshot.
