Fortnite fans discover detailed fall damage information thanks to the Playground LTM

Here's how much damage you take from different heights.

Fortnite’s Playground limited time mode has given birth to all sorts of fun on the map with little limitations. But it has also given some of the more inquisitive players among us the tools to deconstruct their world.

One of the best examples of this is by a Reddit user named “RealSkylitPanda,” who jumped into Playground with their friends to take a closer look at fall damage in-game. Falling from a certain height in Fortnite will damage you, but how high, and how much damage?

The image above illustrates the fall damage wonderfully, as it shows fall damage begins at about three walls plus a third of another wall for about 11 damage. The walls and damage only get higher from there, and it shows that six walls in height will do 99 damage. Anything higher than that will do around 100 damage or more.

This image is very handy to keep around and keep in mind when playing the game. If you don’t have a jump pad or a bounce pad but need to get down in a hurry, just know that you should be safe from excess damage at around three walls of height.

RealSkylitPanda did not stop there, however, as they later posted another image which shows off damage height when jumping as opposed to walking off of an edge. Adding more height with the jump will add more damage in the early going.

Sadly, Playground mode will be disappearing from the game on July 12, alongside the beginning of season fiver. Thankfully, Epic Games has said that it is exploring how to make the LTM a full time mode in the future.

Thanks to people like RealSkylitPanda and their friends, we now know that it can be used for a whole lot more than fun and games.
