Crownfall Act 4 delayed until November, leaks say—and Dota 2 fans are furious

Back to the waiting room.

Dota 2‘s long-awaited Crownfall Act Four was supposed to be just around the corner, but new data mining shows otherwise, with the final entry in the event supposedly delayed until November. Of course, fans haven’t taken the news lightly, as it’s been months since Act Three launched.

According to new data mines and leaks shared across the Dota 2 subreddit on Sept. 24, Valve won’t be releasing the final chapter of its long-running event this month, as previous leaks indicated. Now, following a new mini-patch for Dota 2 from that same day, the data that previously told us of a Crownfall Act Four launch in September now points to a Nov. 1 release date, and fans are absolutely devastated. Crownfall Act Three launched all the way back on June 29, marking almost three months since we’ve seen any new Crownfall-related content.

“LMFAO, it’s so over for us,” said one Reddit user, with another adding how Valve’s handling of the event has become “comical.” Others in that same Sept. 24 thread expressed their doubts that Act Four will even launch on this newly proposed Nov. 1 date, with one somber player expressing “the dream is over.” Act Four briefly became available today when players were able to select it on the Crownfall menu, which might be confirmation that Valve indeed planned to launch the event on Sept. 24, but decided to delay it for whatever reason. The hotfix that changed the data also patched this bug, further solidifying the previous theory.

Crownfall has been running for the better part of 2024 and is one of Valve’s most ambitious events yet. With each separate Act placing players in different regions of the Dota 2 universe, players got both extra lore and comics, as well as numerous rewards to beef up their inventories along the way. Unfortunately, it seems that there’s still a long way ahead until we finally glimpse the elusive Crownfall Act Four.
