How to get Silver Ore in Diablo 4

An important resource in Sanctuary.

As you progress into the endgame of Diablo 4, you start to need more niche resources that are a little harder to find in Sanctuary. One of the primary resources you need for an endgame character is Silver Ore.

Silver Ore is primarily used to upgrade your magical weapons and gear at a Blacksmith. However, you won’t need it to upgrade gear at the lower levels, only at higher levels once you begin to finalize your character’s build for endgame content. While this means you don’t need to worry about Silver Ore for a long time, it can be confusing to locate since you have never had to look for it before.

To see exactly where to get Silver Ore in Diablo 4, check out the guide below.

There are two primary ways of acquiring Silver Ore, and neither is particularly reliable.

The first method of getting Silver Ore is to extract it from ore veins located around the five regions of Sanctuary. Ore veins drop a random ore or gem every time you mine one of them, so even if you find a dozen veins, there is no guarantee that any of them will drop you the Silver Ore you seek.

To maximize your chances of finding Silver Ore, I suggest heading to the mining town of Yelesna in Fractured Peaks. Around this town, you can find several ore veins to farm. Again, just because you find a vein doesn’t mean you’ll get Silver Ore, but Yelesna has the highest density of ore veins in Diablo 4, so you’re bound to get lucky eventually.

The other method of adding Silver Ore to your inventory is to acquire it via salvaging gear. More specifically, you need to salvage magical weapons, gear, or jewelry. Jewelry, like rings and amulets, are the most reliable sources of Silver Ore via salvaging but you can also salvage weapons like wands and staffs as well. You just need to make sure whatever you salvage is of the magical variety, or else there is no chance of receiving Silver Ore in the resources you receive in exchange.

As you might expect, Sorcerers have the best chances of looting magical items given their class, but Druids can also earn a good amount of magical gear. If you’re any other class, you might have a more difficult time sourcing magical gear to salvage.

Alas, though, those are the two methods to acquire Silver Ore in Diablo 4. You might have to spend more time than you want mining ore veins and finding gear to salvage, but those are the only methods available to you.
