How to get the Choir of One Exotic auto rifle in Destiny 2 and what it does

Another deep dive into the core of Nessus, but with great rewards.

Destiny 2‘s Echoes finally brought a new Exotic: the Choir Of One auto rifle. This weapon is tied to an Exotic quest, but getting it is completely worth the trouble.

Choir of One continues the tradition of “borrowing” effects from enemy units, which has appeared in multiple weapons and encompasses multiple factions. Now, you’re stealing some power from the Vex’s deadliest battle unit: the Wyverns.

This new auto rifle is tied to the seasonal story, which leads the Guardian deeper into Nessus in an attempt to thwart the Conductor’s schemes. Since Echoes focuses on the Vex (and made Wyverns ever more terrifying), it’s fitting to grab their powers for yet another gun.

Here’s how to unlock the Choir of One Exotic auto rifle in Destiny 2.

The Choir of One Exotic auto rifle is available from the Echoes Exotic quest, Encore: Overture. This activity is likely tied to Act Three, so make sure you’re caught up before jumping in.

The weapon itself became available on the first week of Act Three, so players don’t have to wait that long to get it (even though its catalysts are probably time-gated for a couple of weeks). It has a Void element, which makes it excellent for anyone looking for a Light-based weapon, and is craftable.

What does the Choir of One Exotic auto rifle do in Destiny 2?

This Vex-inspired Exotic auto rifle is one of the most unique weapons to come to Destiny 2 so far, and we’re not just saying that because we want revenge on all Wyverns.

Choir of One has the new Command Frame intrinsic, which “fires extended, heavy-caliber projectiles at a reduced rate of fire” and deals extra precision damage when aiming down sights, according to its in-game description. This new frame uses Special ammo, too, but with an ammo economy that may make rocket sidearms jealous. It has 250 rounds at maximum without any mods applied.

As an extra trick, its Fanatical Lance trait lets it hip-fire a cluster of shots with a pattern similar to a Wyvern’s shots. This consumes five ammo, but it shouldn’t do much harm if you keep an eye on your reserves.

A guardian tests the Choir of ONe's hipfire mode in the Enclave, showing it has a cross pattern that resembles Wyvern's concussive blasts.

To maximize its potential, the Choir of One has access to three catalysts, each granting one perk: Subsistence, Destabilizing Rounds, and Onslaught. These will likely be available through secrets on the Encore mission, based on past Exotic quests.

All in all, Choir of One is a fresh, unique auto rifle that has a special spot in Void builds but can work with any subclass elements. It’s powerful and feels good to use, which already puts it in a good spot. The fact you can use Wyvern’s weapons against them is just the icing on the radiolaria cupcake.
