One Deadlock hero is a must-pick in all matches during closed beta

Quite shocking.

If you’re one of the many players jumping into the closed beta of Deadlock, then you might be looking for a hero that has a ton of impact on the battlefield. And one hero has stood out among the rest as the best in the game: Seven.

As of Aug. 29, Seven holds the highest win rate and play rate of any agent in Deadlock, boasting a 56.2 percent win rate and a 90 percent pick rate across the online playtests so far, according to Deadlock Tracker. He is also one of the fastest heroes to level up during the game, and has massive impact in almost any type of team composition.

He might not have the soaring KDAs or average kill counts like Warden or Shiv, but he can change the outlook of a teamfight with his powerful ability set. In the early-to-mid game, Seven can slice through waves of minions with his Power Surge ability, which causes his bullets to chain electricity across enemies.

Seven also has a powerful stun ability to lock down enemies, while his Storm Cloud ultimate can shred through multiple foes at the press of a button. Although it does hold him in place, he can time this ultimate with his allies’ crowd control to get the most out of his damage profile in a skirmish.

He can rip through a teamfight if an opposing squad is tightly grouped, and can even pair up his Power Surge ability with Lightning Ball, which adds even more electricity damage to the mix. When timed correctly, Seven can absolutely decimate a team composition if left unchecked. If a player can position themselves well, he will take over by the time the late game arrives.

With the right items, Seven can also heal himself at a surprising rate, especially after acquiring Leech as a late game tool for survival. Altogether, Seven has found himself at the top of the ladder when it comes to the heroes in Deadlock—although Warden is quickly rising up the ranks in multiple categories as well.
