Jump into battle—for science!

Science is always the answer, even in the heat of battle. Dynamo is Deadlock‘s resident scientist-turned-dying star, and even though he might not have a physical body anymore, he can still be one of the most impactful heroes on the field alongside his allies.

As Deadlock‘s resident healer and experimental engage threat, Dynamo brings a ton of utility to the table that can keep his friends safe while also jumping right into the action to kickstart a fight. Here are all of Dynamo’s abilities in Deadlock:

  • Kinetic Pulse: Dynamo unleashes a short-range energy pulse that knocks enemies up into the air.
  • Quantum Entanglement: Dynamo disappears into the void and teleports a short distance. After reappearing, his weapon is reloaded with a fire rate bonus, and can also be cast to bring nearby allies. These allies will also receive half the fire rate bonus.
  • Rejuvenating Aurora: While channeling this ability, Dynamo will heal himself and allies around him.
  • Singularity: Creates a singularity that pulls in nearby enemies to Dynamo while damaging them. After they are pull has completed, enemies are knocked into the air.

Dynamo’s biggest boons are his team-wide healing and playmaking abilities, boasting some of the best wombo-combo potential alongside other heroes. He does, however, have short ranges for all of his abilities, forcing him to up close and personal with his foes. It can be pretty devastating if he gets hit with a plethora of crowd control, but with the right timing, Dynamo can make or break a teamfight.

Early game

Although Dynamo is a support-style character, he still needs to be able to survive the early game as he trades alongside your teammates. You’ll be playing relatively close to the enemy since he doesn’t have much range on his weapon or abilities, so you’ll want to grab Close Quarters and High-Velocity Mag to ensure you can survive on your own for the time being.

Extra Health and Sprint Boots give you the movement speed and extra durability necessary to get close so you can launch some early combos with your friends, while Extra Charge and Mystic Burst allows you to use your abilities more often and to better effect.

Later on, however, Improved Cooldown and Duration Extender are great items to rush so you can start building up nasty ability combinations. Making sure you can keep your allies topped up with Rejuvenating Aurora is very important as you dive into a skirmish for some decent damage. Healing Booster and Health Nova are strong items to increase your healing ability, so once you’ve bought them, you can be a bit more extravagant with your fighting frequency.

Late game

Eventually, Superior Cooldown and Superior Duration will let you dive at will, making you a constant threat for a massive teamfight. When combined with another hero, such as Pocket‘s AOE poison, Dynamo’s Singularity can be the match that lights the fuse to a destructive team-up that can absolutely decimate any enemies in your way.

Unstoppable has a pretty hefty price, but is the ultimate item for the late game as you barrel your way through the front line to dive into the squishier backline of your opponents. It allows you to shed off any crowd control sent your way, so that you can launch yourself as the tip of the spear for your next battle.

Overall, you are a constant engage threat that can be combined with a plethora of different heroes to great effect, while also giving them massive healing after jumping into the fray. Dynamo’s various forms of crowd control can also lock down the enemy, so that even without his Singularity, he can hold a vice grip over the flow of combat.
