Bad news for Dead by Daylight’s awesome sounding 4-player co-op game

Behaviour Interactive has announced some disappointing news regarding its spin-off game, Project T.

Dead by Daylight fans will be disappointed to learn Behaviour Interactive has canceled the co-op spin-off game “Project T.” Behaviour announced the news in an X post, communicating that unfavorable reviews from its Insiders Program indicated Project T wasn’t performing as expected.

Project T was intended to be a four-player co-op PVE shooter experience set in the world of Dead by Daylight and joining the asymmetrical horror game’s other spin-off, The Casting of Frank Stone. Players were to assume control of Trespassers who find themselves trapped in a specific region of the Entity’s realm known as The Backwater. Trespassers were tasked with using trucks, talismans, and weapons to fend off monsters known as the Thrall.

Behaviour Interactive officially pulls the plug on ‘Project T’

In the post, Behaviour made it clear that when Project T was in its early stages, the studio wanted players’ voices to be heard and to have the community involved in the game’s conceptualization. In order to achieve this feat, they launched the Insider Program, which allowed Behaviour to get initial feedback on Project T’s gameplay.

“Following the playtest in July, we ran a thorough internal risk assessment from both a product and commercial perspective,” Behaviour said in its announcement. “While a number of you expressed appreciation for what you played, unfortunately, the outcome of this deep analysis yielded unsatisfactory overall results.”

The Dead by Daylight developer concluded the post by regretfully announcing that Project T would be hereby canceled and thanked the community for their continued support.

Developer Midwinter Entertainment stated in the FAQ section of its website that the Insider Program was not intended to be used to fine tune an almost complete game, but rather implement the player’s feedback in a way that took their creative input into consideration. Midwinter Entertainment said it wished to create Project T alongside the fans, but a sour reaction to Project T’s early stages forced Behaviour to pull the plug.

Luckily, Dead by Daylight fans still have plenty of content to enjoy, as Behaviour recently released Chapter 33: Castlevania and The Casting of Frank Stone became available to purchase on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC earlier this month. It also won’t be long before Dead By Daylight’s annual Halloween Event, which usually occurs from mid-October to early November.

Players can also look ahead to the Five Nights at Freddy’s collaboration, which was officially announced by Behaviour last month.
