How to get Springtrap in Dead by Daylight

Jump scares are back in store.

A highly anticipated collaboration between Dead by Daylight and the Five Nights at Freddy’s franchise is here, bringing a new killer called Springtrap, along with the Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza place map for players to enjoy.

Known as the Animatronic, Springtrap specializes in surveillance, chasing you till the end of the map, and of course, delivering jump scares without any remorse.

The Springtrap killer in Dead by Daylight is scheduled to arrive on June 17 on all available platforms. Once he’s here, you can use your regular in-game currencies to purchase him and play him on the live servers.

Until then, there is only one way to get him right now. If you’re playing the game through Steam, you can use the Public Test Build to play the killer early before everyone else. To do that, go to your Steam Library and right-click on it to get into the properties. Next, select the beta tab and enter the password “DbdPublicTest” without the quotes. Now, click on the check code option and choose public-test on the drop-down menu. Finally, restart your Steam and it should automatically download the game with the early build content.

Apart from that, there’s a separate queue for Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza place map, where you can experience the iconic place from the first game and experience the horror as you face Springtrap. The map features iconic birthday decor, but it also has blood spilled everywhere to enhance that feeling of horror.

Here is a table showing all three character-specific perks for the Springtrap killer in Dead by Daylight:

PerksDescription
Help Wanted

When a Generator you’ve compromised is fully repaired, your Basic Attack cooldowns are temporarily shortened. With enhanced map mobility at your disposal, you can compromise a Generator, dive into a nearby Security Room, and emerge just in time to ambush Survivors. This makes you lethal if you can select the right generators on the map to gain more strength as the generators are fixed.
Phantom Fear

The perk causes any nearby Survivor who catches sight of you to scream in terror, momentarily revealing their Aura. You can use this fear-induced intel to catch them off guard or pressure a group into scattering to plan your next approach.
Haywire

Haywire activates the moment both Exit Gates are powered, causing gate progress to steadily regress if a Survivor stops the progression. Survivors must now commit or risk losing precious escape progress under pressure. This brings endgame tension to a whole new level, preventing any 99 percent powered cheeky stats.
