In the final day of the group stage, North American juggernaut Liquid took down MIBR in two solid maps, Cache and Overpass. Liquid chose Cache while MIBR selected Overpass, and Inferno was the remaining map after the veto process.

Marcelo “coldzera” David opened up the series with a one-vs-three pistol round clutch on Cache to give MIBR the early lead. Liquid then went toe-to-toe with MIBR’s T side pacing, defending against many of their sloppy and inconsistent executes. The North American side led at halftime at 9-6 and dominated MIBR going onto their T side. Cache ended with Liquid on top with a 16-10 scoreline.

MIBR’s offensive struggles continued going into map two Overpass at 2-7, but they recovered with a number of rounds later in the half to minimize the deficit to 7-8. Liquid then won the second pistol round and chugged through to game point with very little contention on their T side. Overpass ended at 16-10, with Russel “Twistzz” Van Dulken topping the server at 24 kills per map. MIBR’s recent pickups, Jake “Stewie2k” Yip and Tarik Celik, had a lackluster day, sitting at 0.69 and 0.60 HLTV 2.0 ratings, respectively, in their final match of the tournament.

The ELEAGUE CS:GO Premier is also the first time in coldzera’s career that he’s finished below a 1.00 HLTV 2.0 rating. He concluded his time at the event with a 0.99 rating after three matches.

With their 2-0 win on day five of the Premier, Liquid are advancing to the playoffs of the $1 million event, where they’ll be facing off against Natus Vincere in the semifinals. Their match will take place at 4pm CT on Saturday, July 28 at the ELEAGUE Arena in Atlanta.
