The three-day, $150,000 event began today with two matches pinning Cloud9 against FaZe Clan in a ELEAGUE Boston Major rematch, along with BIG vs. compLexity Gaming right after. At the end of the day, C9 and BIG emerged victorious, putting up two 2-0 series sweeps against their opposition.

Semifinal No. 1

Cloud9 vs. FaZe Clan

  • C9 won Overpass 19-15
  • C9 won Mirage 19-16

Cloud9 started the series with a 12-3 T scoreline on Overpass vs. FaZe, but they ended up choking the lead to FaZe’s overwhelming offense. The North American side then swept Nikola “NiKo” Kovac in four overtime rounds before heading into Mirage with much-needed momentum. Mirage was a back-and-forth game with C9 taking both pistols. They choked another lead from 14-6 to 15-15, but still managed to win in overtime once again.

Semifinal No. 2

BIG vs. compLexity Gaming

  • BIG won Overpass 16-12
  • BIG won Cache 16-6

The latter semifinal saw BIG take the series in a much more convincing fashion. CoL put up a good fight with some clutches against the newly-mixed international BIG squad on Overpass, yet it wasn’t enough to stump the firepower of AWPer Owen “smooya” Butterfield and newcomer Ismailcan “XANTARES” Dortkardes. Smooya later had a star performance with a 28-kill top frag and a one-vs-three clutch on Cache vs. the North American squad.
