All Antoine quiz answers in Clair Obscur Expedition 33

A great way to provide exposition without overwhelming us.

The calm before Clair Obscur‘s storm, Gustave wanders around Lumière, putting off the inevitable Expedition 33. Speaking to various NPCs rewards Gustave with items, one of which is the Festival Tokens, rewarded for helping Lumière residents out.

After observing the disturbing Gommage, Gustave can speak to NPCs like Antoine, who has a three-question quiz to deliver much-needed backstory on the events that led up to Expedition 33. Here are all the answers to Antoine’s quiz in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 for the Festival Token, a currency to win prizes before you set off on your suicide mission against the Paintress.

Expedition 33: All Antoine questions, answered

When was the Fracture?

Option two. Screenshot by Dot Esports

Learning the awful truth of what Expedition 33 truly means, we now know the Paintress is lowering the life expectancy of Lumière by a year, every year. With 33 years left on the Monolith, and three options available in Antoine’s quiz, we can assume this small civilization started 100 years ago, once the life expectancy falls to zero. 33 plus 67 equals 100, yet the third option tricks you into picking it. Given that there are only 33 years left and assuming 100 years of this, we can confidently select 67 years ago as the correct answer to Antoine’s first question.

Which was the first expedition?

Option three. Screenshot by Dot Esports
  • Expedition 100.
  • Expedition 99.
  • Expedition Zero.

Question two feels like it’s trying to trick you into picking the wrong answer. 99 couldn’t be correct, leaving two answers: 100 or zero. We now know the Fracture happen Year 100, so Expedition 100 would be the obvious pick. However, as this was the first ever expedition to leave the continent (probably to explore, rather than kill the Paintress), Lumière probably didn’t think there would be more expeditions. Therefore, the correct answer is Expedition Zero.

What is a Lumina?

Option one. Screenshot by Dot Esports
  • Abilities you internalize by using a Pictos in battle after enough times.
  • A special type of weapon.
  • Lumière;s unique brand of perfume.

If you’ve paid close enough attention during the battle tutorials, you likely saw Clair Obscur explain a Lumina as an ability. These are points you gather by leveling up your party members, which you can then use to unlock Lumina Abilities by repeatedly using Pictos during battle (four or more times).

You can give Festival Tokens to other vendors at the port before speaking to Gustave’s sister. Relics and a fresh haircut are on offer before you set off on your expedition.
